My products are all handmade, glazed, and fired by me in small batches. I am particularly enjoying throwing and altering on the wheel, and exploring soda firing with the unique surfaces it creates.
I have been extremely fortunate in being able to be part of the soda firing team at the Otago Potters Group this year. It’s been a blast learning how to fire the kiln, and such fun trying new slip and glaze recipes.
The science and stories that go into all these creations. This section (will one day) contains blog posts, presentations and other teaching resources about the technical aspects of our art.
My adult introduction to clay was in Christchurch when my flatmate signed me up for an intermediate wheel throwing class. Yes it was harder than it looked, and we certainly should not have started in that class!

I am currently studying part time at Te Pūkenga, and am halfway through a level five diploma in ceramics.
