Moody Brown Soda Fired Mug

Description

This moody mug looks great dressed up with a latte. It is made of Macs Mud buff stoneware, and was altered on the wheel just after throwing to form the upper and lower boarders. I then used a lemon reamer when it had firmed up a little to form the indents. It is glazed with tenmoku as a liner, and for the rim, and has a slip called soda grey on the upper and lower boarders and the handle. Soda application has glazed the unglazed/unslipped clay in the central part of the body a dark brown, and transformed the tenmoku on the rim into a speckled honey colour. The lemon reamer indents have been highlighted with a green glaze.

Like all my mugs it is food safe, dishwasher safe and made of NZ clay. It is just over 10cm tall, and will hold 300mL of your favourite beverage.
